In order to relieve the existing Realschule in Neubiberg and to expand the range of schools in the area of the Zweckverband, it was decided to establish a new Realschule in Hohenbrunn. The secondary school in the municipality of Hohenbrunn is being built by the Zweckverband Staatliche höhere Schulen in the southeast of the district of Munich and is to be attended by students from all member communities. The six-level Realschule (R6) is to be built 4-quickly (24 classes) for about 770 pupils.
The new school area is located on the other side of the western outskirts of the village of Hohenbrunn. The western edge of the settlement is bordered by the railway tracks of the Munich-Kreuzstraße railway, to the west of which there is currently farmland. The Taufkirchner Straße (B 471) crosses the railway tracks and leads from the west into the centre of Hohenbrunn. To the north of Taufkirchener Straße and west of the railway tracks, the community will be supplemented by an expansion of the village with a housing estate and the secondary school to be planned.
The planning area consists of two parts, one is the southeastern area with a size of approx. 25,400 m² and the other is the northwestern area, which is approx. 17,900 m². On the southeastern part is the school building of the secondary school with a playground area and an all-weather field. Furthermore, an area of 8,000 m² on the site is reserved for another educational institution of the municipality. On the northwestern area, the other outdoor sports facilities and a parking lot are arranged.
