Barts Health NHS Trust has awarded the contract to Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI). The contract initial period is for 3 yrs with option to extend for a further 24 months.
IHI is expected the following:
1) to help support development and implementation of a sustainable, unified programme of quality improvement across the organisation;
2) will form a strategic relationship to support the Trust in developing a culture of continuous quality improvement;
3) will work alongside staff at all levels within the organisation from the board and senior management levels to ward and front line staff, to increase capability and capacity in quality improvement;
4) will built relationships and seeing improvement through new eyes;
5) to support the Trust in becoming a transformed organisation using the skills, knowledge and experience obtained. 6. to ensure that once the partnership has concluded, the Trust will have built their capability to independently lead QI initiatives across the local health economy.

c) Supporting sustainable Quality Improvement/infrastructure across Barts Health;
d) Partnering on developing innovation and research in QI;
e) Sustainability strategy and exit plan;
