As part of its participation in the SARAF project, the CEA is to provide four cryomodules; the first two consist of six and seven low-beta (LB) cavities, respectively, and the other two of seven high-beta (HB) cavities. Each cavity must be equipped with a frequency adjustment system (tuners) to ensure its operating accuracy. The temperature of the cavities is around 60 K. The tuners for both types of cavities are adapted to their different shapes but are nevertheless very similar.
This consultation focuses on the manufacture of high-beta tuner models only, consisting mainly of:
— two interface parts with cavity,
— four large lever arms pressing the harness port,
— two reinforcement plates between the arms,
— four contact flanges,
— two axes of the tuner with eccentric,
— ball bearings on the axes,
— a part supporting the axes,
— two small lever arms ensuring the connection between the axes and the worm screw,
— a nut and worm type system.
The service consists of the study of the manufacture, production, testing and delivery of fifteen high-beta tuners. Tools and transport boxes will also be provided.
Some moving parts will need to receive specific surface treatment, as lubricants are prohibited.
The cleaning of the parts will have to follow an already defined process. Stainless steel and titanium are among the materials used.
The magnetic permeability of the finished parts is desired very low and constitutes a technical performance to be satisfied in the form of an obligation of result.
