Advancing women's rights and gender equality is a priority in Norwegian foreign and development aid policy. The Norwegian government has targeted that a minimum 50 percent of bilateral aid includes gender equality as a main or significant goal, in accordance with the OECD DAC gender marker. Recognising the high priority and demand from the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Norwegian Ministry of Climate and Environment, Norwegian embassies, external partners and from within the organisation, Norad’s section for Gender Equality in the Department for Human Development seeks to further strengthen our knowledge base and implementation capacity on integrating gender equality.

This assignment supports Norad’s ongoing work in further developing relevant solutions, tools and resources, and implementation capacity for both broader general equality support and targeted thematic support, with relevant, and tested gender equality know-how.
