The Scottish Government requires a suitably qualified company to supply, install, commission and provide maintenance for a Liquid Chromatography-tandem-Mass Spectrometer (LC-MSMS) system for the quantitative and qualitative determination of multiple-pesticide and other chemical residues that may remain in or on various foodstuffs or be present in various samples of biological origin e.g. vertebrate wildlife. The system must be capable of the separation, detection, identification and quantitation of 100's of different chemicals present at various concentrations in a wide range of sample matrices, ideally in a single (multiple sample-batch) experiment i.e. simultaneous screen/confirmation measurements incorporating polarity-switching. It is mandatory for this requirement that all suppliers make available time to participate in and complete the supplier system demonstration as per the enclosed timescales.
The system must readily achieve detection limits specified and currently achieved by SASA in accordance with method validation and reporting levels (RLs) that are aligned to the UK Chemicals Regulation Directorate and EU Method Validation and Analytical Quality Control (AQC) procedures/guidance for Pesticide Residue Analysis in Food and Feed (cf. Document N° SANCO/12495/2011).
The supply and installation of the system requires to be complete before 31.3.2014.
