Medemblik is a municipality and a town in the Westfriesland region in the province of North Holland. The municipality has about 45,000 inhabitants. Until 2007, the municipality of Medemblik only concerned the city of Medemblik. In 2007 and then in 2011, several municipalities phased into the current municipality of Medemblik. The size of the municipality has thus increased to 257.56 km2.

The Municipality of Medemblik aims to improve the quality of the spatial in the physical projects in its municipality. To date, there is no urban planning expertise within the municipality of Medemblik to be able to test projects and policy. The municipality has come to the conclusion that more attention to spatial quality is needed.

For the purpose of drawing up a master plan/urban vision, image quality plan and other urban planning consultancy work, the Contracting Authority intends to select one Tenderer and has launched a European restricted tender procedure for this purpose.
