Dialysis solutions. King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is looking for the provision, and maintenance of a multi-purpose clinical facility with an integrated 12 Station Renal Dialysis Unit at its core in the area of Belvedere, Greater London, UK. The configuration should allow for future expansion in dialysis capacity up to 20 stations. The Trust will require options of either the phased refurbishment of an existing site or the supply, installation and on-going maintenance of a new facility. The Renal Unit needs to be a safe and ergonomically designed environment that utilises evidence based health care design, reflects the best in current technology and renal practice whilst being flexible to accommodate future changes in clinical practice. The Trust would be looking for a turnkey operation with the appropriate project management and quality controls in place.
The requirement will include:-

— Realistic supplier penalties for none performance and unscheduled downtime occurrences
— Provision of six multi-purpose clinic rooms
— Provision of a seminar room for patient education and staff MDT use
— Provision of regular service management reports against a defined set of key performance indictors on a quarterly basis linked to payments;
— Support for, and during, upgrades.

Allowance for amendments to the services and service levels
Whilst the Trust is looking for offers for the above they will also seek as part of the offer process innovative and alternative financing solutions for a service delivered by KCH NHS staff.
Core requirements:
To include hardware and necessary medical equipment, and including reverse osmosis (RO) water supply.
It is anticipated the managed service will operate with a charging model which allows new Participating Organisations to join the service with costs varying linearly as the number of Participating Organisations changes.
The service provider must demonstrate compliance and alignment with relevant legislative Acts of the United Kingdom, and EU, especially Data Protection Act given that the data held needs to remain highly secure and confidential.
Whilst this procurement describes one site, the supplier should have capacity for providing equivalent units in additional locations served by King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
The Contract will need to be flexible to cater for additional optional requirements such as:
— Addition of new Participating Organisations after contract award;
— Removal of Participating Organisations from the managed service with reduction in costs;
— Provision of service for enhancements (e.g. upgrades, development, maintenance, calibration) or similar advice
The service to be provided will be based on all equipment being maintained and includes servicing, training, helpdesk, management services and financing being consolidated into an agreed yearly or quarterly payment. The final solution may deliver these through NHS staff, a fully delivered service or a hybrid model.
