Rowley Regis Crematorium has served the local community for 45 years and during this time has remained relatively unchanged.
The necessity to replace ageing cremators has provided Sandwell MBC with the catalyst to upgrade this important community facility. In order to deliver this vision the Council is seeking to appoint a project team made up of a number of qualified specialists and partners who have a proven track record in the modernisation refurbishment and renovation of crematoria and cremation related equipment equal to or greater than the value of the project to which this Invitation to Tender relates.
The project team will be lead by the Prime Contractor an architect with appropriate experience and expertise as set out in this tender document and will appoint a team which will include but not limited to providing expertise and experience of quantity surveying structural engineering mechanical and electrical engineering CDM and cremator installation and commissioning from its Organisations own inhouse resources or will appoint specialists through consortia or subcontract arrangements.
The Architect Organisation acting as the lead Prime Contractor is to be the tenderer bidder and who will be ultimately responsible for delivery of the overall project service delivery and with whom the Contract with the Council will be made.
The contract is expected to commence on 1.11.2012.
