The Government Consulting project provides independent consulting services to support the transformation process with a current focus in Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Kosovo and Armenia. The Confederation has a significant interest in shaping and supporting transformation in these countries positively. This is about securing political stability and developing democratic and market economy structures. Advising the respective governments and demonstrating an impact on economic policy and legislation in the countries can be improved in the medium term for German companies' investment and business activities in the countries. There is still a clear need for action in all target countries regarding reliable investment and business conditions. The hallmarks of this advice are excellent networking in partner countries and access to important decision-makers in politics and business and the political players of the various parties. The advice is independent and demand-oriented. Sustainable economic and fiscal policy is the guiding principle here.
The aim of government counseling is to focus on supporting Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Georgia, Uzbekistan and Kosovo in the lengthy process of transformation towards a market economy. The transformation in countries of the “Eastern Partnership” and in other countries of Eastern Europe, the Western Balkans, the South Caucasus and Central Asia should be effectively helped to shape, and political stability and the development of democratic and market economy structures should be supported. This is to be achieved through
* the acceleration or initiation of concrete reform projects
* strengthening reform-oriented forces in governments, subordinate institutions, business associations and economic research institutes,
* contacts in science and business of the countries
* maintaining personal contacts with social forces and
* cooperation with German embassys/international chambers of commerce (AHkN) and German business associations on site.
By advising the respective governments and demonstrating an impact on economic policy and legislation in the countries, the framework conditions for investments and opportunities of German companies in the countries are to be improved in the medium term. In addition, based on qualified consulting and analysis activities, sound information on the economic situation in the partner country is to be provided for the German economy. Close cooperation with the embassies, AHKN and local economic institutions strengthens networks for companies in partner countries. Upon request, up to five analyses or background information on selected current issues are provided to the client per year.
