Cooperation on Copenhagen Bus Terminal
On 29 October 2020, the Ministry of Transport and Housing and the City of Copenhagen entered into an agreement to jointly build a bus terminal located at Dybbølsbro in Copenhagen. The bus terminal will be used for boarding and embarking passengers on long-distance buses arriving in and departing from Copenhagen. The City of Copenhagen may decide that, in addition to long-distance buses, the terminal should also be able to be used by buses in public service traffic and tourist buses. The State at the Danish Road Directorate is the client of the plant, which is transferred to the ownership of the City of Copenhagen at the end of the establishment.
The bus terminal is located on an area by Dybbølsbro Station between the railway terrain and Carsten Niebuhrs Gade. The area shall be separated into its own land register. The bus terminal has 15 bus stops (12 seats for 15-metre buses and 3 places for 18-metre buses), and is expected to be able to service up to 195 buses on a weekday. The bus terminal also consists of a terminal building with waiting facilities, kiosk, traffic information system and wayfinding as well as stairs and elevator to Dybbølsbro. Furthermore, the bus terminal consists of parking spaces for taxis, kiss-and-rides, disabled parking and bicycle parking.
