Description:

VEAT Notice to support the direct award to Honeywell for the on going provision of Fire Alarm Maintenance without a tendering process due to technical restrictions.

North Wales Police utilises the services of Honeywell to provide maintenance and support for its Fire Alarm Systems in its Estates and Properties across the whole of the North Wales geographic area.

This includes the actual alarms and also the software which runs them. They also provide a call out service/help-desk facility and free software updates, other considerations include:

— Call out service and help-desk facility with local engineers with site experience who can provide 4 hour response;

— Holding of critical Spares;

— Free software updates;

— Presently all large high risk properties have Honeywell addressable systems which are closed. Only Honeywell has access to parts and software;

— Tendering this contract would require new addressable systems to be installed in All high risk properties requiring a large capital investment and unacceptable risk.
