Contract for equipment procurement and management within the framework of an innovation partnership, including consulting services for the optimization of the medical equipment of large-scale imaging medical equipment as well as process optimization in the field of device use with the corresponding patient logistics.
The Carl-Thiem-Klinikum Cottbus gGmbH (CTK) is the hospital for the Cottbus region and the largest hospital in Brandenburg in terms of beds. With 1,200 fully inpatient beds and more than 2,500 employees in the hospital, it is the largest employer in the city of Cottbus and one of the largest and most efficient hospitals in Germany. In addition, the CTK is an academic teaching hospital of the Charité in Berlin. Every year, more than 100,000 patients are treated as inpatients and/or outpatients in 21 sub-clinics, 2 institutes and numerous certified centers. As a result, the CTK has developed into a high-performance medical center and stands for excellent comprehensive medical care.
The CTK plans the sustainable procurement, provision and management of large-scale medical imaging equipment. In cooperation with a central contractual partner of the medical technology industry, a comprehensive part of the future equipment is to be made available. In doing so, the contractual partner can also integrate products from other manufacturers into the management concept and future technological development in order to meet the needs of the client. In addition to ensuring equipment quality and availability, services must also be provided to optimize the equipment park, to participate the CTK in innovations regarding equipment and processes, and to improve the structures and processes of medical operations on the basis of the medical technology involved. The CTK summarizes these services under the term "innovation partnership".
The term of the innovation partnership is 10 years with the option of a unilateral, one-time extension of the contract for a further two years by the client.
In the present case, the term innovation partnership refers to the procurement, provision and management of large-scale medical imaging equipment by the contractor during the term of the contract as well as the participation of the client in innovations concerning the devices and related processes, as well as the provision of consulting services by the contractor to improve the structures and processes of medical operations on the basis of of the medical technology involved.
