The Caritas Children's Village Marienstein is located in the city of Eichstätt and was founded in the 70s by the
Architect Eckert Pressel Jakubik. Architecturally, the village is an offshoot of the Olympic Village in
Munich, as it was planned and built in the same reinforced concrete precast construction.
The children's village comprises a central building, three residential buildings, a staff residence, two
Caretaker bungalows, a church, a special school with gym and several garages, and is equipped with
a district heating network with its own combined heat and power plant. The Children's Village is a
fully inpatient facility, in which currently about 100 children aged about 6-15 years are cared for. The
Care is provided by about 160 employees in 10 fully inpatient residential groups and 2 curative education

The ever-advancing development of the pedagogical concept has functional traces
in the Children's Village. For this reason, Caritas has decided to reorganize the Children's Village
