The construction project comprises the construction work of the second part of the River Center project carried out by the City of Pori in Eteläranta in accordance with this invitation to tender and its annexes.

The area of the river center is one of the most valuable urban and riverine landscape facilities in the city and an integral part of Pori National Urban Park. The Rivers Center project implements the main objectives of Pori National Urban Park, including the development of a nationally valuable built cultural environment on the South and North Shore as a whole and the emphasis on its landscaped value, maintaining the liveliness of the urban environment and increasing and improving the possibilities of movement.

The second phase of the Pori River Centre project is part of a larger urban development project to improve the conditions of walking in the centre of Pori on the southern and northern banks of Kokemäenjoki and Kirhurinluoo. In the first phase of the River Center project in 2017 and 2018, the beach wall of the Eteläranta was renovated and the seating areas from the Pori Bridge up to the Rantamakasinin building were renovated. The second phase to be built from the eastern end of the Rantamacasinin building to the Taavi Bridge will be carried out in 2022-23. The project includes the construction of the waterfront area and waterfront structures of the Pori River Centre and the renovation of the technical systems and the surfaces of the seating areas. Coziness is brought to the area by plantings, benches and lighting, among other things. In addition, a new residence square will be built in front of the Pori Art Museum and an opportunity to display temporary works. The possibility of organizing events on the river bank of Pori will also be improved.

The subject matter and content of the acquisition are described in more detail in the contract programme and in the draft contract and other annexes to the invitation to tender. The subscriber requires that the contractor has familiarized themselves with the object prior to issuing the offer.

The project includes the construction of the Rantamacasin fence and the terrace area as an option option. The subscriber will decide on the execution of the options by the end of 2022.
