The identification system to be procured (retrofitting the containers with transponders) is intended to improve complaint processing and to detect black containers.

In addition, it is intended to replace the garbage stamps currently in use. There are currently no plans to use it for the emptying number-dependent calculation of the fee.

The container retrofitting with transponder will take place in the district of Freudenstadt. The district area has approximately 119,183 inhabitants (as of 2021).

The district assesses on a budget-related basis. Currently, about 53,000 households (including commercial enterprises) are assessed.

The client's goal is to use the container identification system from 01 August 2024. The tendered retrofitting of the containers with transponders must therefore be completed by 31 Jul 2024 at the latest.
