The Westdeutsche Rundfunk Köln will produce the program “ARD-Sportschau” for the joint program “Das Erste” of the ARD for the coming seasons of the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga (2021/2022 to 2022/2023). Production will take place on 34 match days of the Bundesliga of the DFL-Deutsche Fußball Liga GmbH each season.

The subject of this award procedure is the broadcast services for initially 2 seasons (2021/2022 and 2022/2023), optionally an extension of 2 further seasons (2023/2024 and 2024/25) is requested.

The specific dates for the seasons are set by the DFL.

The scope of services for a season usually includes the provision of 174 HDTV transmissions per season

(33 production days * 5 transfers = 165

Plus 1 production day * 9 transmissions = 9

Total volume of lot 1 = 348 transfers

The transmission technology to be used - fiber optic technology - is described in detail in the description of services in Appendix 1.

The scope of services of the lot usually includes the provision of 96 HDTV transmissions per season (32 production days * 3 transmissions = 96 including the associated room segment).

This results in the total volume of lot 2 = 192 transfers.

The transfers from lot 1 are to be secured using an independent technology. Therefore, all transmissions are to be provided with satellite technology.

One SNG vehicle must be provided at each of the 1st Bundesliga venues. In addition, a space segment is required that these vehicles share over time.
