The main objective of this process is to select the best proposal for conducting the Survey on Gender Gaps in Unpaid Care and Individual and Social Activities (CARE) – Second Wave.
The second wave of the EIGE's CARE survey aims to support the EU and national policy developments and surveillance. The survey data will be used to monitor the policy commitments set out in two Council Recommendations on the new Barcelona targets for early childhood education and care and access to affordable, high-quality long-term care, adopted by the Council on 8 December 2022.

The survey data will be used to monitor the policy commitments set out in two Council Recommendations on the new Barcelona targets for early childhood education and care and access to affordable, high-quality long-term care, adopted by the Council on 8 December 2022. The survey data will also feed into the monitoring of the European Care Strategy and the EU Strategy for Equality between Women and Men 2020-2025, as closing the gender care gap is one of the main objectives of this strategy.
The survey will also collect new data for the revised "Time" section of the 2025 Gender Equality Index.
