The project is part of the cyclists trunk road between Stavanger and Sandnes. The project including driving and securing the cycle tunnel, establishing cuttings, portals and blasting/filling for open air roads and works in the southbound lane of the Auglends Tunnel. The contract has three alternatives for the works in the southbound lane of the Auglends Tunnel, but only one of the alternatives will be implemented.
Alternative 1 is back ripping, securing and replacement of arches in the southbound lane of the Auglends Tunnel. Alternative 2 is back ripping, securing, expansion with one driving lane and new arch in the southbound lane of the Auglends Tunnel. It will be expanded as far as is possible toward the existing portals. Alternative 3 is like alternative 2 with an addition to complete back ripping/securing jobs for three driving lanes and build new T14 portals for the southbound lanes. The cycle tunnel is approximately 380 metres long and will be delivered with portals, permanent securing and interim road superstructure and is the same in all alternatives. The cyclists tunnel shall work as a bypass road when water and frost protection works are executed in the Auglend Tunnel.
