A total of 4 road bridges, which have reached their load limit, cross the two lock chambers.
The road bridges will be dismantled in two construction phases and replaced by a new building that leads over the eastern lock chamber. A road embankment is being built in the area of the backfilled west chamber.
Furthermore, all lines are to be routed over a new line bridge to be built.
Project scope of the awarding unit - subproject "Bridge"
- Dismantling of 4 road bridges
- New construction of road bridge (East Chamber area)
- New construction of a road embankment (West Chamber area)
- Construction of a new pipeline bridge
- Construction of the lock section below the road and pipeline bridge (approx. 40m)
- Adaptation and renewal of the road drainage system and the rainwater in areas of Hohen-Schaar-Straße
The 4 road bridges are to be dismantled and replaced by a new multi-lane bridge in the area of the East Chamber. In the area of the west chamber, a road embankment is built above a trough structure.
A line bridge is to be built south of the road bridge, on which the six affected line carriers can cross their lines across the new lock chamber.
Below the two new bridges, a section of the lock of approx. 40m - in two construction phases, one of them including an underwater concrete base - is to be built under the influence of tides.
As a result of the new bridge construction, areas of Hohen-Schaar-Straße, including the road drainage system and the Regensiel, will have to be adapted and renewed. The discharge points originally located in the lock chambers have to be taken out of operation in the course of the construction project and temporarily relocated during construction (the final outlet structures will be constructed in the course of lock construction or the construction of the southern wing walls).
The port railway lines will not be affected by the new construction of the new heron lift lock. Rail traffic must be maintained without interruption throughout the construction project.
There is a suspicion of explosive ordnance for areas of the affected area. In preparation for the construction project, explosive ordnance investigations and explosive ordnance disposal were carried out as far as possible. Nevertheless, explosive ordnance probes must be carried out during the entire construction project.
Finally, the client expects a BIM model for the construction work carried out by the awarding unit, which is created on the basis of the implementation planning approved for execution.
