The Municipality of Houten and Public Education Houten (OOH) intends to implement (replacement) new construction for the public primary school De Velduil in Houten Noordoost as well as a gymnasium and childcare (KMN Kind and Co).

The new construction takes place on the plot of De Velduil primary school, location Eggeveld 2-4 in Houten, and a small part of the adjacent public space.

There is currently a gymnasium against the existing primary school. The existing school building will be demolished to provide space for the new child centre and gymnasium.

The existing gymnasium remains in use for schools and associations throughout the construction process; the new building has been projected at a sufficient distance from the gymnasium to make this happen. After completion of the new child centre and the new gymnasium, the existing gymnasium will be demolished.
