In Neubulach, the district of Calw is planning the new construction of the “Calw district fire service center”. In addition to various special vehicles for the completion of diverse operational tasks, the special operational resources and pandemic warehouse of the district of Calw, as well as storage areas for area damage situations and other sovereign tasks, are to be integrated here.
The building is divided into several units and comprises the following areas:
1st fire station — general planning principles according to DIN 14092-1,
2. special task bearings,
3. Civil protection camps,
4. Central fire brigade workshops according to DIN 14092-7,
5. Respiratory protection training center according to DIN 14093,
6. Staff division/ technical management.

In order to be able to record the scope of the technical facilities, a preliminary design for the areas of heating, ventilation, sanitary and electrical engineering was carried out at the beginning of the planning process.
Since the planned new building functions as a disaster control center, both emergency power supply via a backup grid system and a feed-in point are required. An antenna system for radio and telecommunications technology is to be set up.
It is also important to design a redundant heating system during planning. A district heating pipe is to be produced to the adjacent cycle biogas fermentation plant, in which the fire brigade centre is the only customer. Redundancy during maintenance work and other failures of the biogas fermentation plant is to be ensured by gas heating with a liquefied gas tank.
Emergency ventilation (at least 30 air changes) must be guaranteed in the practice room and in the finish area for the respiratory protection exercise system. In addition, the ventilation system must be dimensioned with regard to the spread of exhaust gases in the vehicle hall and in the area of post-drying in hose care (workshop area). In addition, workplaces where there is a risk of incorporation must be mechanically vented.
Another special feature is greywater harvesting for the workshop area, as well as an overflow from it into a fire-fighting water pond to be created (DIN 14210) and the connection of overhead hydrants (DIN 14384) to the drinking water pipe.

Expected budget: approx. €7.5 million net (KG200-700).
Expected deadline: Planning must be started immediately after the award procedure. Construction is planned to start in 2023 and completion of the measure in summer 2024, all dates subject to committee decisions.
Technical equipment planning according to § 55 HOAI 2021, plant groups 1-5+7+8, service phases 3 - 9.
The commissioning of the service phases takes place in stages. The client is free in his decision about a further assignment; there is no entitlement to the transfer of further services.
