Delivery of pedelecs and operation of a bicycle rental system in the district of Ahrweiler.

The main features are:

- 20 rental stations with a total of 80 pedelecs are planned.

- The bike rental system is based on the usual market standards of comparable systems.

- It should be closely linked to local public transport (in particular with the location of the stations at public transport stops).

- The offer can be used around the clock (lending 24/7), short-term loans are possible.

- The offer should be usable with at least one smartphone app (iOS and Android). Other forms of booking are optional (e.g. telephone), booking at fixed station steles is not provided.

- The contractor supports the evaluation of the system. In addition to the ongoing monitoring, evaluation results are targeted for the end of Q3 2025.

- The bicycle rental system is designed as a cooperation between the municipal side and a service provider. The district of Ahrweiler is supported in the organization and coordination by the Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Mosel (VRM). The VRM is the first point of contact in all matters.

- As a full-service provider, the contractor must take over both the one-time setup of the system at the beginning and the subsequent operation.
