Description:
Pilot project 1 Tropical hall - metalwork/locksmith

The construction project includes the locksmiths and metalwork of the Meranti Hall in the Münster all-weather zoo.

The locksmith work is divided into two lots:

Lot 1 - Tropical Hall and Built-On:

For the tropical hall and extensions, animal-safe slides, enclosure partitions, straw storage and railings must be produced in the farm yard.

Lot 2 - conference:

For the conference, a balcony with adjoining footbridge and stairs is to be made.

The Meranti Hall consists of the visitor hall, a conference center and extensions, which are mainly used for keeping animals.

The extensions consist of reinforced concrete walls, which are heated by means of concrete core activation (BKT).

For this reason, the drilling depth on reinforced concrete walls with BKT is limited to 50 mm.

The attachments contain the individual animal boxes, which consist of lattice walls, starboard walls or horse box wall elements. The fastening of the slides must be adapted to the respective wall materials.

The animal boxes are arranged in such a way that there is a connection to the visitor hall. The connection from the animal boxes to the hall can be closed by means of slides.

Some of the animal boxes are connected to each other by sliders of different sizes and heights. In some cases, the animal boxes are combined with each other via walkways.

The walkways also have sliders and removable transport boxes.

All sliders are manually operated from the care passages or locks. The sliders open or close vertically or horizontally by means of a rod or a cable pull.

There are electric steel bridges in the hall that can be walked on by visitors.

There is also a jungle-themed balcony in the hall, where visitors to the conference can experience the tropical house. There is a jetty on the side of the balcony with steel stairs as an escape route. An educational space is provided under the balcony, which invites you to linger.

Flat steel railings are to be provided in the outdoor facilities such as the farm yard and the entrance to the conference. There is also a straw storage in the farm yard.

There are light shafts on the wall of the hall in the south and in the north, which are used to ventilate the tropical hall. The light wells are equipped with walk-in gratings.
