The contract is for the development, construction and commissioning of a vertical demonstration multilayer cultivation installation including a warranty period.
Vertical cultivation installations are already found in so-called plant factories, these are highly conditioned environments without daylight. The use in greenhouses today, with the exception of a few experiments, is virtually non-existent and imposes new requirements on these systems in terms of climate conditioning (temperature, light, humidity), irrigation, inspection and control of planting material and ease of use (planting, harvesting, cleaning). The economic yield, on the other hand, is strongly related to the cost price of these vertical systems. Here too, there is a need for innovation to make these systems common in the market.
The intended demonstration cultivation installation includes a self-supporting structure with multiple cultivation layers, adequate nutrition and watering, possibly moving parts, and control. The installation complies with all applicable norms and standards, it is delivered including the necessary inspections. The safety tests shall be submitted to the client for evaluation. The contractor also provides a warranty period that at least complies with the applicable legal regulations.
The research into the state of the art resulted in different available type architectures, each with advantages and disadvantages. That is why Inagro wishes to install and validate one or two demonstration systems for vertical cultivation, if the budget allows this. However, the client reserves the right to purchase only one setup if the purchase price is not in accordance with the planned budget.
An online information meeting is planned on the date of 16 March 2023 at 10 am after the launch of the assignment. If you wish to register for this online meeting, please request the online meeting link via maarten.ameye@inagro.be before March 13, 2023.
