The ZVH invites tenders for the overall provision of the planning (detail engineering) and plant construction of a convection drying plant for a multi-purpose demonstration plant (BioCampus MultiPilot (BMP)). Essentially, the subject matter of the present tender procedure includes all necessary planning, supply, construction and services for the realization of a self-contained convection drying system that is fully functional based on the results of the basic engineering for a spray dryer and the design and approval planning of the building, as well as for the integration of these into an overall functional BMP. Within the scope of this tender, the contractor must provide all necessary services with regard to the equipment design, production, assembly, delivery, assembly and installation, connection and commissioning of all machines, apparatus, peripheral components and other systems within the process limits (in battery limits) of the package unit.

The subject of the tender is based on the documents, plans, calculations and descriptions for a spray dryer created in the course of basic engineering. These must be included as a basis for further processing (detail engineering and plant construction) by the contractor.

The convection drying plant includes all main apparatus as well as all peripheral equipment necessary for their process engineering functions, local piping, cabling and instrumentation, steel construction, automation and safety equipment. Essentially, the subject matter of the present award procedure comprises all necessary planning, supply, construction and services for the realization of a self-contained convection drying system (package unit) based on the results of the basic engineering for a spray dryer and the design and approval planning of the building, as well as for the integration of these into an overall functional BMP. Within the scope of this tender, the contractor must provide all necessary services with regard to the equipment design, production, assembly, delivery, assembly and installation, connection and commissioning of all machines, apparatus, peripheral components and other systems within the process limits (in battery limits) of the package unit.

Based on the existing results and current findings, a uniform, coherent and explicit detailed engineering of the convection drying system including all peripheral machines, apparatus, piping, valves, fittings, sensors and other elements is to be carried out for a spray dryer based on the available process flow diagrams. The existing technical specifications must be checked, supplemented, specified and defined by the contractor for completeness and correctness. The handling of the deliveries as well as the coordination of the plant construction for the sub-plants within the scope of services of the contractor are also among the essential tasks of the contractor. Automation and process control programming, functional tests, performance tests and acceptances of all machines, apparatus, process units and systems necessary for proper use of the convection drying system are also to be provided by the contractor within the project.

All in all, it is the task of the contractor to continue to plan and implement a fully functional convection drying system within the BioCampus MultiPilot in the sense of the design concept and also to introduce and integrate it into the overall BMP system without any problems in terms of (construction) technology and functionality.
