In Luxembourg, the European Parliament occupies a building complex with a total surface area of 200 000 m2. This site comprises 5 buildings (low-rise, medium-rise and high-rise) which are open to the public, and a warehouse. In the spirit of openness to citizens, the institution welcomes approximately 10 000 visitors per year, in addition to its staff and external service providers. The framework contract to provide services covers the following fields:

field 1:

— general security involving surveillance, screening,

— permanent and continuous external surveillance, both stationary and via pre-defined patrols,

— operation of the general security control centre;

field 2:

— fire safety for persons and property, pursuant to the regulations governing fire and panic hazards,

— assistance to persons,

— operation of the fire safety control centres.

The various staff categories are:

field 1:

— unit chief,

— team leaders,

— PC operator,

— call-out staff — patrol officers,

— security officers — guards;

field 2:

— unit chiefs,

— team leaders,

— fire officers.

Categories of fields 1 and 2 above are supplemented by 2 functional coordinators (m/f) (1 per field).
