The purchase of data from location-based systems involves different types of data that are collected at fixed locations along, on, above or in the road, such as intensities, point speeds, vehicle categories, weight, identification of hazardous substances, road open / closed, occupancy parking lot, etc. Various technologies are available for this, in
different stages of maturity yielding different data qualities. The data can be collected with axle pressure sensors, detection loops, cameras, infrared detectors, radar, motion sensors, etc. It is also possible to add additional equipment to existing systems, for example to bridge operating systems. Not all of these methods always yield the highest quality, but may be useful for some purposes. Demand for this data can be either permanent or periodic.
