As part of the procurement, a backup system and associated services will be put out to tender. An all-in-one data protection and archiving appliance in the form of a multi-tiered storage system is required. The details can be found in the tender documents.

The subject of the tender is the procurement of a backup system and services for the Baden-Württemberg State Office of Criminal Investigation. The order includes the supply of the following components and services:

- An all-in-one data protection & archiving appliance in the form of a multi-tiered storage system is to be offered. The connection should be possible via LAN (NFS and CIFS via 10Gbit/s) as well as via FibreChannel as a Virtual Tape Library (VTL).

,

- The cache or disk area of the system must be flexible to 64TB SSD cache and 500TB NL-SAS capacity and be freely assigned.

,

- It must be possible to transfer the data to a tape library from both areas, VTL and file.

,

- It must be possible to connect at least 4 tape libraries with 4 FC drives per library. The data must be automatically written by the system to 2 locations in 2 copies of the data.

- The system must be fully redundant.

,

- In addition, 2 new tape libraries with 80 slots each, 4x Fibre Channel LTO-8 drives as well as 160x LTO-8 tapes, 8x cleaning tape (4 per library) must be delivered.

- The system is pre-installed as an appliance, pre-configured, tested by the manufacturer and checked for functionality. The service of the appliance is provided by the contractor.

- The contractor carries out the construction, wiring and commissioning of the system, as well as the training of the personnel.

- The contractor provides software updates as well as the supply of hardware spare parts. In addition, support is required in the event of malfunctions (24x7 with a maximum response time of 8 hours).
