The authority will be seeking tenders to provide flexibility to our networks separately for Drayton and Coxmoor Wood through the establishment of a Constraint managed zone (CMZ). A CMZ is a geographic region served by an existing network where requirements related to security of supply are met through the use of flexible services, such as demand side response, energy storage, energy efficiency and stand-by generation.
To establish a Constraint managed zone in Coxmoor Wood to provide 5 MW of demand reduction or flexibility for an expected 4.5 hours per event, with an expected 6 events per year.
To establish a Constraint managed zone in Drayton to provide 3,75 MW of demand reduction or flexibility for an expected 1,6 hours per event, with an expected 6 events per year.
