Consultancy to conduct a reasearch to establish trends of the concept of partnership within the development sector. The findings should be presented in a final product, such as a report, video(s), cartoons, illustrations, writeups to be used social media platforms or other suitable products. The assignment should rest on published research and scientific methodology.
Questions to be asked in the study:
- What are the different partnership models used in development cooperation today, and what defines a well-functioning and successful partnership?
- To what degree and in what way do asymmetrical power relations influence the dynamics in the various partnership models?
- How are power relations approached and managed in the various models and funding schemes?
- How can Norec promote a constructive discussion on managing partnerships and power relations?
The assignment should be based upon solid, well documented, and recognised research. A historic picture of the development of different partnership models in development cooperation, followed by a description of present models in use is expected.
It is imperative that the research builds on experience from both the global north and the global south. A desk review should be supplemented by interviews with relevant experts in the field and possibly also partner organisations from the global north and the global south. Concrete examples of good practices and/or cases should be documented and presented as part of the final product.
The findings can be presented as products adoptable for a variety of communication platforms, however the findings must be supported in solid and verifiable research methodology. The products must be written and/or communicated in English. The findings must be presented in plain language.
