The Hanseatic and University City of Rostock, represented by the Civil Engineering Office, intends to award test engineering services for the building BW 102 - Vorpommernbrücke Rostock.
The Vorpommernbrücke crosses the state road L 22 northeast of Rostock city centre over the Warnow. The L 22 is a 4-lane road with 2 lanes per direction of travel, which with about 42,000 cars / 24 h at the same time represents the busiest road in Rostock and Mecklenburg - Western Pomerania and thus has a very high importance for the city and the surrounding area of Rostock.
The Vorpommern bridge was built from 1983 to 1986 as a 3 – field prestressed concrete bridge with a cross-section of a two-cell hollow box, which curves towards the central columns. The end fields were built floor-supported, the midfield in the cantilever was concreted by both central pillars from lamellar. The bridge has spans of 35.50 m / 74.00 m / 35.50 m. Over the entire building, the road runs in a crest.
Within the first 15 years after commissioning, a steadily increasing increase in midfield deflection was observed. In the mid-1990s, tests and recallocations found that the bridge's clamping reinforcement was too small in the original statics. As a result, the structure of the bridge was reinforced in 1998 by external tensioners located in the hollow boxes.
Despite this reinforcement, which has brought about a temporary improvement with a decrease in deflection, the deflection of the midfield has been slowly but steadily increasing since then. In the years 2019/2020, a recalculation of the building was prepared on the basis of the federal government's recalculation guideline, which, however, cannot mathematically prove the deformations and deflections measured on the building in real terms due to self-containment and expansion loads as well as temperature. As a result of this recalculation on a single-rod system, the building was classified in level 3, verification class C of the recalculation directive.
These results were confirmed by the test engineer.
