The Utility is planning to build a new purpose built fish market in Scalloway, Shetland on the site of the existing fish market.
A temporary chill facility is therefore required to cover the period of demolition, construction and commissioning of the new market. It is envisaged that will be for a period of 18 months.
The Utility has secured a temporary lease on a large industrial warehouse, close to the site of the existing market. This warehouse is uninsulated and requires work to make it suitable for use as a temporary fish market.
It is proposed that a contract be let, to install a temporary chilled insulated shell within this warehouse, with an internal floor area of approx. 750 m
The temporary chill facility is required to be commissioned and ready for use from 1.7.2018.
The Utility used an Open Procedure under the Utilities Contracts (Scotland) Regulations 2016.
