PR128816-3700 W MalOle-pehue laser beam melting plant for additive manufacturing of metal components from the powder bed
The project includes the construction, testing and delivery of a flexible LBM machine for the production of metallic components using LBM. The plant is intended to investigate various influencing factors such as process parameters and process control strategies on the LBM process at the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Cycles and Resource Strategy IWKS.
The instrument is used for the development, testing and characterization of important metal powders for applications in additive manufacturing, hot isostatic pressing and conventional powder metallurgy. The device should be able to process a wide range of alloys (both reactive and non-reactive). The device is to be equipped with a laser beam melting system (class 4 laser system).
