The target of the procurement is a weapon light attached to long handguns and related accessories for the use of the authorities. The subject matter of the procurement and the requirements set for the subject of the procurement are described in this invitation to tender and its subsequent appendices:

Based on the tendering process, one supplier and one deputy supplier will be selected.

The procurement will be carried out as a joint procurement, in which, in addition to the National Police Board, the Finnish Border Guard, CMC Finland (Crisis Management Centre) and the Åland Police Authority will participate. The National Police Board and the Finnish Border Guard conclude independent open-ended procurement agreements with the successful tenderer. CMC Finland and the Åland Police Authority act as subscribers under a procurement agreement with the National Police Board.

It is not possible to divide the procurement into parts, as it is a single product. The long handgun light to be procured was previously put out to tender as one of the areas of the tendering process for weapons lights, for which the tendering process was suspended.

The object of the procurement is a weapon light that complies with the requirements of Annex 1 to the invitation to tender and is designed and manufactured for use by the authorities in shotguns, submachine guns and self-loading and automatic rifles (e.g. calibers 5.56 x 45 and 7.62 x 51).

The purpose of the weapon light is to facilitate the use of weapons by the authorities in the dark, in the dark or with night vision devices. The authorities' use of weapons includes identifying the target, warning of the use of weapons, threatening with a weapon and firing a shot, as well as monitoring the effect of the use of weapons.
