At the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Mathematics ITWM, the Fraunhofer Society intends to expand the existing institute building at the Kaiserslautern location by a further construction phase and to build an additional technical center. The extension has a usable area of approx. 2,780 m² and the technical center has a usable area of approx. 650 m². Office work areas for around 200 employees, demonstration and pilot plant areas, as well as training and seminar areas, physical laboratories, IT infrastructure rooms and storage rooms are required. The construction of the technical center is to be accelerated. Both buildings can be accessed with supply and disposal lines. The technical systems of system groups 1, 2, 3, 7 and 8 are to be planned and the execution monitored. Plant group 7 includes, among other things, technical gases and laboratory equipment.
The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft attaches great importance to the implementation of an innovative, sustainable and resource-saving, but at the same time economical building, energy and operating concept. The aim is to develop an energy concept that allows the building to be operated with as little additional CO2 emissions as possible.
