Clinical information system. Derby Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to procure a replacement Maternity system. The Trust requires a solution to document the complete patient pathway from first visit to a health professional, through delivery, to post natal care and discharge with the ability to provide extended use in the Health community.
The solution will be the building block for a future Patient Electronic Health Record. The solution must conform to the Trust’s Statutory Obligations with the Department of Health, Information Governance requirements, ensuring compliance with the NHS data dictionary and support statutory reporting; CNST, Newborn Blood Spot and NIPE, with the ability to support National Screening Committee returns and Electronic Returns desirable.
A potential system needs to accommodate the following modules; Outpatient, Inpatients, Case Note Tracking, Coding and Commissioning, Electronic Discharge, Reporting (operation reports, management information and data extracts) plus non functional requirements. The system must interface to an existing and any future Patient Administration Systems (PAS). Initially, we will be looking to replace our Maternity system by June 2013. The system needs to fully integrate (bi-directional HL7) into an EPR and be able to link into a Portal.
Proposals should include provision of the following services; data migration, project management, technical implementation, integration services, training, on-going support and maintenance. The Trust will consider either a managed service solution or a software maintenance only proposal. The replacement system must interface to a number of existing systems; for example, Pathology, Radiology, Cardiology and produce electronic messages/documents for transfer to Community and GP organisations via Sunquest communications software. The contract will be for an initial period of 5years, with the provision to extend up to 10 years based on performance and delivering continued value for money.
