The scope of this contract is to deliver a cost effective and flexible occupational health service that maximises value for money for Newcastle University through the delivery of a timely, effective, up-to-date and quality service to staff and postgraduates. The service delivery required is to support Newcastle University to comply with legislative requirements, regulations, guidelines and standards current at the time of delivery, whilst maintaining duty of care to staff and postgraduate students. The service should be maintained for 50 weeks per annum. This includes the Department of Education (DfE) standards applicable to the service. The EAP service should be maintained 25/7, 52 weeks per annum.
The University currently manages approximately 2 500 appointments annually for the range of clinical and administrative services detailed in the scope of this project. The service provider will deliver cost effective and flexible occupational health service (OH) which maximises value for money for The University through the delivery of a timely, effective, up-to-date and quality service to staff and postgraduates. The University has clinical facilities on the Newcastle campus used to deliver the current occupational health service. As part of this contract the service provider would be expected to utilise these facilities for all OH face to face services.
The OH service must be maintained for 51 weeks per annum. This includes the Department for Education (DfE) standards applicable to the service. The University has a large research intensive medical faculty and as such a large proportion of our service concerns the safety and protection of medical research staff. Any agreement for services (rates) resulting from this tender shall be available for use by members of the following organisations: Northumbria University; Newcastle City Council.

The EAP service will provide a service for the Newcastle,London, Malaysia and Singapore Campuses. The service delivery required is to support The University to comply with legislative requirements, regulations, guidelines and standards current at the time of delivery, whilst maintaining duty of care to staff and postgraduate students. The EAP service will be maintained continuously.
Any agreement for services (rates) resulting from this tender shall be available for use by members of the following organisations: Northumbria University; Newcastle City Council.
