Environmental improvements for the relieved road network, old E6, shall be implemented in connection with the development of the E6 road from Frya to Sjoa. The objective of the measures for the relieved road network is to contribute to more pleasant communities and safer local roads along the old E6 road. The old E6 road shall simultaneously function as a bypass road in connection with any closing of the new E6 road, e.g. in connection with accidents and larger maintenance works.

The two affected communities in Nord-Fron are Vinstra and Kvam.
