The Nordic Council of Ministers is seeking a supplier to continue its work on the development, production and provision of Nordic Statistics. Nordic Statistics is a collection of high-quality comparative Nordic statistics. The Nordic cooperation is one of the world’s most comprehensive regional forms of cooperation. The cooperation includes Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden, as well as the Faroe Islands, Greenland and Åland. Its goal is to create the most integrated region in the world.

Nordic Statistics is a collection of high-quality comparative Nordic statistics. It has existed since the mid-1960s — and has always been funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers. In the beginning, and for many years, the statistics were published on paper. Later on, the publication was supplemented with a CD-ROM containing the statistical data. Currently, Nordic Statistics consist of 2 primary communication platforms: the basic database is the Nordic Statistics database, containing around 180-200 matrices. Selections are made from the basic database for an indicator platform, Nordic iLibrary, for more easily accessible publication of the data. Both are issued by the Nordic Council of Ministers and are made available, free of charge, for users via Norden.org

In addition to this, three pocket almanacs in Swedish, Finnish and English are currently published. The aim of Nordic Statistics is to support the work of the Nordic governments and Nordic region parliamentarians in creating joint solutions that benefit citizens in the Nordic countries. Nordic Statistics should also be presented and communicated as a useful, relevant and open statistical tool, which will form the basis for describing the Nordic region in an inter-Nordic and international perspective. The data is collected from the Nordic statistical bodies, other Nordic statistics producers (e.g. Nososco, Nomesco and Nordicom) as well as international sources (e.g. Eurostat, the UN and OECD).
