The city intends to expand a "green ring" around the city center with the goals of networking biotope and green spaces, increasing biodiversity, preserving and expanding fresh air corridors, retaining and storing rainwater and creating attractive connections and places to stay for pedestrians and cyclists as recreational areas for the adjacent residential areas of the city center.

The processing area includes the "Eastern Green Ring" and consists of several sub-areas that follow each other and is located to the west of the station. The processing area is accessed by Am Bahnhof, Packhofstraße and Bad Wilsnacker Straße.
