Greater Manchester (GM) Moving is the comprehensive plan to reduce inactivity and increase participation in physical activity and sport which is aligned to the GM Population Health Plan priority themes and wider reform agenda. The overall aim of the evaluation will be to develop the evidence base around what works and how it works to achieve population scale change in physical activity through GM Moving and the GM LDP.
Greater Manchester (GM) Moving is the comprehensive plan to reduce inactivity and increase participation in physical activity and sport which is aligned to the GM Population Health Plan priority themes and wider reform agenda. Our shared purpose is to positively change the lives of people across GM through physical activity and sport. Building from our strengths and through system-wide collaboration, we will double the rate of past improvements, reaching the target of 75 % of people active or fairly active by 2025.
GreaterSport is the county sports partnership for GM with the vision to change lives through physical activity and sport and help to make GM the most active region in England. Our role is to coordinate the GM Moving evaluation group and to invite tenders on behalf of GM Moving.
We are seeking to appoint an evaluation partner or a consortium with a lead organisation, to undertake the process and impact evaluation over the 3 years to March 2021 of 2 separate but linked areas of activity: GM Moving; and the GM LDP (Local Delivery Pilot). More detail on the relationship between GM Moving activities and GM LDP activities are explained in subsequent sections. The evaluation will be funded through the GM LDP funding until March 2021.
The overall aim of the evaluation will be to develop the evidence base around what works and how it works to achieve population scale change in physical activity through GM Moving and the GM LDP.
