Fixed-term contract - Delivery, installation and operation of network components for the media technology of the NS Documentation Centre as managed services
The subject of the tender is the provision, assembly, installation and operation of network components, servers for a virtualization platform, firewalls, UPS systems and Internet access for media technology as well as related services as a fully comprehensive "managed service" for the operation of the media network of the NS Documentation Centre during the term of the contract.
In addition to the hardware, the responsibility of the bidder also includes the delivery, installation and ongoing operation of software components that are necessary for the normal use and proper functioning of the hardware, such as
- Virtual machines on the virtualization platform
- Server services on the virtualization platform
- Firewall services on corresponding firewall appliances
- Network management, access control and authentication services
- Data protection and recovery services as well as disaster recovery solutions
In addition, system-specific management applications are required for some areas, which will also be procured as part of this tender.
For this purpose, corresponding installation, maintenance, servicing and operating services are also advertised here as a managed service on the basis of monthly flat rates.
In addition, the operating services may also extend to components that are not to be supplied by the bidder, but are procured elsewhere.
This refers mainly to devices that are to be connected to the media network, e.g. Projectors, touch panels, media guides, tablets or laptops. Among other things, the following operating services are recorded in separately defined periods:
- Configure IP, DNS, or standard gateway address entries required to connect to the media network
- Uploading and managing certificates that are required, for example, to connect to the WLAN
- Set up and configure authentication procedures or special software to enable secure network access
- Troubleshooting, for example, if network access no longer works or only works to a limited extent or the data transfer rate cannot be achieved
- Maintenance of directories (users, assets, etc.) for these components
In addition to the necessary operating expenses of the media network including service desk, 2nd and 3rd level support services, the bidder must also make changes. For this purpose, a typification of the changes according to their complexity is planned, corresponding change management processes are defined and implemented during operation.
In addition, however, it should also be possible to commission other operating and support services on a case-by-case basis.

Contract period 52 months with an option to extend by 12 months, as follows:
1st deployment phase from 01 February 2024 to 31 March 2024 (2 months)
2nd migration phase from 01 April 2024 to 31 May 2024 (2 months)
3rd operating phase from 01 June 2024 to 31 May 2028 (48 months)
4. Handover phase from 01 March 2028 to 31 May 2028 (3 months)
Option to extend the operational phase by 12 months, i.e.
Operating phase: from 01 June 2028 to 31 May 2029 (12 months)
Handover phase: from 01 March 2029 to 31 May 2029 (3 months)
According to the conception of the media network, the bidder must essentially offer the following components:
- Wireless LAN access points for indoor and outdoor mounting and based on a controller-based WLAN design
-Access switsches (stackable), incl. stacking cables, transciever modules, etc.
- Two modular core switches as central, redundant network nodes, including redundant power supplies, supervisor engine module, line cards, WLAN controller, etc.
- A virtualization platform including implementation and operation of approx. 20 virtual machines, databases, web, DHCP and other servers
- A highly available and high-performance SAN
- Redundant Internet access with the help of two providers
- Two redundant firewall appliances
- Two UPS systems for safeguarding the central components, including implementation and operation
- Data backup and disaster recovery solution, including implementation and operation
- Solution for network access control and authentication, including implementation and operation
- Network management solution, including implementation and operation, connection to a ticket system, etc.
- A media server (software) and media gayteways for distributing video streams to projectors, displays, etc.
- Laptops for administration of the media server and other components of the media network
- Umfangreiche Managed-Service-Dienstleistungen, inkl. Adds, Moves, Changes, Major Changes, Projects etc.
