The aim of the procurement is to get an operator(s) for the 2 route packages 'Bergen south' and 'west'. The routes in the area are mainly built on the current lines and route offer, the ambition is a continuous line network and an offer that allows as many people as possible to get to important destinations.

The current contracts (per 2017) (maximum take up):

Bergen south: 6 252 575 route kilometers 123 buses.

West: 5 109 829 route kilometers 133 buses.

Both Bergen south and west and areas where Skyss expect the need for public transport to grow until 2030.

Both route package west and route package Bergen south are to be carried out with 100 % renewable energy. Skyss shall have the right to ask the operator to change the propulsion technology during the contract period.

Route package west includes an option for the Contracting Authority to require that parts of the route production are carried out with biogas.
