An automated production machine capable of producing complex metal parts from computer aided design data by the selective melting of multiple layers of powders. The machine should be capable of manufacturing complex Ti-6A-4V parts (including overhanging features and internal passageways) at a speed of up to 50 cm3 per hour. The usable build envelop of the machine should not be less than 350 mm diameter x 380 mm deep.
