As part of the proposed project, the advantages and disadvantages of systemic integration of small, decentralized consumption and generation units into the energy system are to be investigated and demonstrated through active participation in the electricity market. The project will investigate the question of whether volatile generation and consumption can be efficiently coordinated through active market participation and thus increase the share of electricity produced by renewable generation plants, bring about a reduction in system services, grid costs and necessary grid investments and incentives for investments and operation of corresponding generation plants in a post-EEG world can be created. For this purpose, an agent-based simulation environment is to be used, which uses comprehensive parameterization to map different market scenarios and interactions between flexibility markets and electricity wholesale as well as the influence
