Details of the construction project

- General description

Haus Carstanjen is a castle or villa in Plittersdorf, a district of Bonn's Bad Godesberg district.

The property Haus Carstanjen, Martin-Luther-King-Str.8 in 53175 Bonn-Plittersdorf in the direct Rhine location, is included in the uniform property management of BiMA. The buildings are predominantly used by the United Nations for office work.

The property was built in two phases with the buildings that exist today. In the first phase from the middle of the 18th century to 1907, Villa Carstanjen (also known as a castle) was built, rebuilt and extended several times. In the second phase from 1967 to 1969, the property was supplemented with additional administrative buildings. After completion, the buildings were available to various federal ministries. They have been used by the UN organizations represented in Bonn since 1996.

The property or parts of it are registered under the name - former villa “Carstanjen” with park, A 1654 - in the list of monuments of the city of Bonn.

Based on the building maintenance measures of recent years and the resulting expert opinions on the façade, roof surfaces and the historical construction, the renovation of the castle's outer shell is planned as a bundled measure. The following remediation tasks are the subject of the commission:

Historic renovation of façades and roof areas as well as cellar walls based on the previous three expert opinions on facade, roof and historical construction.
