The purpose of Lot 1 is the contracting of services for the development of a genetic study to know the subpopulations of origin of the individuals of leatherback turtle (Dermochelys coriacea) that use the Spanish jurisdictional waters, as well as the remote monitoring of 4 specimens to determine the distribution patterns and the use of the habitat of the species in our waters. The information obtained will improve knowledge about migration patterns, distribution, reproductive behavior, and connectivity between the different populations and individuals of this species, which will allow the identification of priority areas for the conservation of the species and propose management measures to improve its conservation status, within the framework of the LIFE IP-PAF INTEMARES project (LIFE15 IPE ES 012), "Integrated, innovative and participatory management of the Natura 2000 Network in the Spanish marine environment".
