Due to the increasing number of students, the existing school location in Valckenburghstraße 1-3 in Bremen-Huckelriede is to be expanded and expanded into a campus on behalf of the Senator for Children and Education. At present, the buildings of the Wilhelm-Kaisen-Oberschule, the gymnasium, the caretaker's house, the general vocational school as well as some ancillary facilities are located on the school property.
On the one hand, the planned measures include a structural extension of the existing Wilhelm-Kaisen-Oberschule by 3 class trains, as well as the new construction of the Helene-Kaisen-Grundschule. The space requirements amount to approx. 3 400 m
On the other hand, the infrastructure is due to the construction of a shared canteen and multi-purpose hall with about 1 200 m
The single-storey caretaker building will be dismantled for the creation of the cafeteria. For the youth room Huckelriede currently located there, new premises are to be provided in the area of new buildings.
The total investment volume of the construction project (KG 200-700) is estimated at approx. EUR 27.8 million gross. Of this amount, approximately EUR 10.8 million net is attributable to KG 300 and approximately EUR 5 million net to KG 400.
The focus in the implementation of the project should be on a speedy, compact construction phase. The difficult situation in terms of building in the current school operation is particularly important here. The completion of the new buildings is scheduled for the second quarter of 2025. It is currently assumed that the project will be managed as a general contractor project later on.
In addition, the urban planning and architectural quality as well as the functionality for a sustainable school building should not be ignored. Special attention is also to be paid to the design of the open spaces.
In order to solve the problem, in 2017 the office Architektengruppe Rosengart + Partner BDA was commissioned with the preparation of a feasibility study. This already takes into account the new school building, the extension of the secondary school, as well as the Mensaneubau and is to be based on the planning. The feasibility study forms the basis for further planning and will be made available to all participants as an invitation to tender. The Büro Architektengruppe Rosengart + Partner BDA is not excluded from participating in the present proceedings.
In addition to the feasibility study, the additional, additional tasks and the development on the property must be considered. The expansion of the secondary school and, to a lesser extent, the new construction of the primary school have increased due to further demands in the volume of space. The new construction of a two-field gym, as well as demolition of the stock gym are to be considered.
