Description:
Delivery of semi-automatic SNP-Array platform incl reagents for cytogenetics

This is a European Public Tender of the AMC for the supply of a semi-automatic SNP array platform including maintenance and reagents for the Cytogenetics laboratory, with an option to purchase a second semi-automatic SNP array platform including maintenance for the VUMC (jointly Amsterdam UMC). AMC (and VUMC by opting out of the option) wishes to jointly conclude a purchase agreement with one entrepreneur for a period of five years.

The AMC / VUmc is looking for a semi-automatic array platform for the SNP array for Cytogenetic diagnostics and research projects. The AMC / VUmc wants a SNP array with a high resolution and a fast turnaround time. The degree of automation is important here because it results in an increased quality due to a lower error sensitivity. The SNP array must be suitable for prenatal and postnatal diagnostics as well as tumor diagnostics. The array platform should have a capacity of 3,000-4,000 tests per year.

This is a European Public Tender of the AMC for the supply of a semi-automatic SNP array platform including maintenance and reagents, with an option to purchase a second semi-automatic SNP array platform including maintenance for the VUMC (joint Amsterdam UMC) . The tender concerns the delivery of a semi-automatic SNP array platform including maintenance and reagents for the Cytogenetics laboratory. AMC (and VUMC by opting out of the option) wishes to jointly conclude a purchase agreement with one entrepreneur for a period of five years.

Reason for the assignment

In the current situation, there is one array street at both locations in the Clinical Genetics department (in AMC an array-CGH street, in the VUMC an SNP-array street). At the moment 3,000-4,000 arrays per year are jointly done with this equipment.

The equipment at both locations is outdated and the contracts have expired, so AMC and VUMC are looking for a new semi-automated solution.

As the laboratories will merge within a few years, one array platform will initially be purchased with an option for a second array platform.

The array platform should have a capacity of 3000-4000 tests per year.

Purpose of the assignment

The AMC / VUmc is looking for a setup for renewing and automating the SNP array for cytogenetic diagnostics and research projects. In order to serve these groups properly, the AMC / VUmc wants to run an SNP array with a high resolution and a fast turnaround time. The degree of automation is important here because it results in an increased quality due to a lower error sensitivity.

The SNP array must be suitable for prenatal and postnatal diagnostics as well as tumor diagnostics. The intention is to put the intended system into use for five years.

Description of the Option for VUMC: If necessary (and the option is lifted), a second system will be purchased which will be placed on location VUMC, where the required reagents will not double as the numbers of sample flow remain the same, but will be distributed over the two platforms .

Clients of the Cytogenetics of Clinical Genetics:

The department of clinical genetics is the field that deals with research and advice on hereditary diseases and congenital disorders. The Cytogenetics of Clinical Genetics (KG) offers a number of services within the AMC / VUmc, including array analysis. Approximately 25% of the arrays are done for prenatal diagnostics (these are urgent requests), 50% for postnatal diagnostics and 20% for tumor diagnostics, 5% is done on behalf of research projects within the AMC / VUmc. The diagnostic genetic examination can be divided into cytogenetic and DNA diagnostics, both during pregnancy (prenatal) and afterwards (postnatal). There is also a tumor cytogenetic laboratory. The vast majority of the samples for diagnosis mainly come from clinical genetic centers in the Netherlands, some come from Dutch hospitals and a small number from applicants abroad.
