FÁS - Foras Áiseanna Saothair. FÁS was originally established as The Training and Employment Authority under the Labour Services Act 1987. Arising from a Government decision, it is expected that FÁS will be dissolved following the enactment of relevant legislation. SOLAS will be established as a new organisation to plan, coordinate and fund further education and training. The direct training provision of FÁS will subsequently be transferred to new Education and Training Boards (reconstituted Vocational Education Committees).

The service under this tender is expected to transfer to SOLAS from FÁS on the dissolution of FÁS.

The Tralee Training Centre is planning to establish a Wind Turbine Maintenance Technician Course in the near future. FÁS is now seeking to purchase decommissioned wind turbine equipment. See the attached document for details.
